When following the torque sequences below, wait approximately 15 minutes between torque steps. This allows time for the studs to stretch and settle completely before the next torque application.

The 16V tightening sequence is slightly different than the sequence for the 8V heads. Refer to the 16V Cylinder Head and Head Gasket Removal and Installation procedure for the correct sequence.
