I've had the car for 11 years so far. New motor 4 years ago - old one was awesome, but was blown up when I had the A/C upgraded to enviro-friendly stuff - the shop left the air cleaner box bolts INSIDE the aircleaner when they put it back together. I got 2 blocks, when #3 cylinder ingested the bolts. Long story short...block shipped away to have custom steel cylinders made, new everything else (I had a new clutch put in too, of course) including cylinder head, oil pump, etc. etc., bill was around $7000. Shop's insurance company fought me on it - said that the motor was 1/2 worn out, and they only damaged 1 cylinder, so they'd pay 1/8th of the cost! I threatened legal action, and after 2 years they finally coughed up about 1/2 of it.

Car was imported from California, and at some time in the past was repainted Guards Red form the original gold. Brown leather interior (seats are cracking now), 8" 911 Fuchs wheels on the front and 9" ones on the back. Currently on Michelin Pilots...

Although there's only about 6,000 mi. on the clock since the rebuild, she's starting to burn oil when she's been parked for a few days. Posslibly valve guide seals...but she still gets better than 35 mpg, and still does over 140 mph (maybe more, but I ran out of road and nerve, at about the same time)>
