Bigger valves
Ported and polished head
Custom 2.5 inch exhaust
Aircon delete
MSD Blaster coil
Separate crankcase breather
951 oil cooler
Look Ma, no belt covers
Soon to come
Stand alone EMS
Turbocharger Cause we can!
Suspension:
Bilstein dampers up front
Progressive rate springs

Interior:
All sound deadening removed
Full cage

Battery cutoff switch, more to save the battery when the car isn't being used.
Autometer boost and oil pressure gauges in center console.
Autometer EGT and AEM UEGO in glovebox. _________________ '01 Embraer 135 Jets for work

I like the cadge. Looks like some good welding there. Are you going to add a petty bar?
I really like right hand drive. I have always wanted
a RHD car here in the states. _________________ Respectfully

Thanks for the kind words gents!
We have to use right hookers down this end of the world, drive on the left side of the road. Did some contract work up in central africa a couple of yeas ago, and nearly had a couple of head ons, them driving on the right side of the road
Dean, I got a egt gauge as well as a lambda probe now to sort this go-tech out, will keep you posted as I get along with it. Forced induction looms on the horizon. If it goes boom I'll then just have to build a 400 rwhp monster...
On another note, just finished installing the 951 cooler and lines tonight, will put up pics sometime, was easier than I thought it would be.
Have to run, have to commit aviation in 6 hours time, and still need to catch some sleep. _________________ '01 Embraer 135 Jets for work

When forced induction come around think TD04-15g from a Volvo 850 R type. They seem made for custom applications due to having both the BOV and the wastegate integrated in to the unit. Greatly simplifies the plumbing.
Since I am already half way to a standalone in my car with the MJLJ V4 EDIS system. I am wondering if the is a fuel only standalone out there that I should use that would run off the EDIS and it its sensors. I may have to give DIYautotune a call. _________________ Respectfully

Dean!
If you are interested go check out www.gotech.co.za , see what they have, and bear in mind it is approximately R7.50 to the dollar at the moment, should get it for quite cheap in US terms. Complete standalone systems.
I'm going to take the car to a mate of mine who is going to lend a hand with the sensor mounting for the 60-2 wheel as well as mounting the wheel itself. The rest I'll sort on my own.
I finally managed to get the 951 oil cooler installed, so just pulling the waterpump today, finally. Was quite tied up with work and other stuff lately, been having wrench withdrawal symptoms
I'll post pics sometime of the oil cooler install, had to fabricate a bit and get creative. Just waiting for my old man now to come around with a sheet of thin aluminium so I can make a duct from the bumper to the oil cooler. Now have to figure out new place to run the brake cooling ducts to the front...
That Garrett with the integrated wastegate seems like a very good idea, seeing as there is no hassles with where to install the wastegate. Especially on the RHD, with the clutch master cylinder on the right side of the car, there won't be space for a callaway setup with an external wastegate.
What is the map like on that compressor for our flows and lowish boost? Been thinking that I want to keep it to around 5-6 PSI for the moment, should wake these cars up nicely.
Think I have asked you this, did you see a noticeable gain in performance when you got the MJLJ completely sorted from the stock Bosch setup?
Cool, got to run, the waterpump isn't going to change itself
All the best,
Glenn _________________ '01 Embraer 135 Jets for work

Glenn,
The standalone MJLJ was an improvement over the stock setup. The car pulls much more evenly over the whole rpm range. I was having a problem with a intermittent misfire around 2K when I was in 3rd gear. It turned out to be my plugs were going bad. I had a set of NGK's in there but gaped them at the Ford spec. I actually put a set of plugs from a mustang (from my wife's 94 that also uses the EDIS ignition.) I then upped the gap from the stock .028 to .035 (the escort spec is something like .054. Before I made the plug change I checked the clearances against my stock plugs and they are identical!!!! The reach, thread pitch etc is identical. With the new plugs that were meant for the mustang the car is running much better. It is as if I took a couple degrees of timing out across the whole map. I am betting that the plugs are now matched to the ignition system and are of the proper resistance so they are firing a tad later than the ones I had in the car that were the proper plug for the Porsche ignition system.
The other thing that may have contributed was the closing of the gap. This will obviously reduce resistance and in tern also the plugs to fire a little sooner.
Anyway I have to get back to work I will look in to that setup with that exchange rate it may be doable!!! _________________ Respectfully

Dean, as promised, here is two pics of what I've been getting up to with the oil cooler install. _________________ '01 Embraer 135 Jets for work
